I want a private company to operate a nuclear power plant.
Under a PPP 'partnership' with the government that company is no longer private. Under a contract with the government it would be different, but you would rather misstate the issue.

The only thing keeping this corrupt “free trade” economy of yours going is the fact that government is growing and government spending is bailing out whole sectors. You ARE growing the size of the government with your falsely named “free trade” agenda.
BTW, it apparently hasn’t been too good for your pocket book, it’s amazing and baffling that you keep defending it.

I'd be willing, in fact eager, to reduce government spending by 50%
Proof please. And state how you would do it.

You are really beginning to bore me. Commonwealth Edison/Exelon operate a number of nuclear reactors in Northern Illinois. Are they private companies, or not?

BTW, it apparently hasnt been too good for your pocket book, its amazing and baffling that you keep defending it. So much for your contention that free-traders are "selfish."

Hey, hold-off on complying with her demand until she tells the rest of us the proper method of operating a nuclear power plant. She’s spinning like a top.

Let’s see, the thread is about the North American parliament, and the discussion is about how public/private partnerships are implementing it, bypassing the will of the American people and Congressional oversight.
It has been shown that the federal government through the executive branch bureaucrats are influencing local governments to join in these ‘partnerships’ with foreign corporations and foreign governments, even, unconstitutionally, writing the legislative text for them to implement.
Nuclear power plants? LOL! Start a new thread if you really care about it!

Sorry, you don't get off that easily. You can't just make stuff up as you go along without defending yourself. Take your blather about the will of the American people and Congressional oversight.
How is it being bypassed?
How does ComEd/Exelon become "not private.?"
How do you propose to perform the function that ComEd/Exelon perform without using a PPP? All of the above questions are germane
to the argument you are making. It's not my fault you cannot answer them--you cannot because your argument is stillborn.
Think of it this way, if you can: let's assume for the purposes of the argument that PPP's are an abomination. What's your solution? I've only asked you a dozen times.

LOL! Why don't you talk to us all about Westinghouse's public private partnership with the Chinese communists? If its good for communist china, its good for America! --"free trader" slogan of the hour.
How about having the chinese communists as business "partners"? That means they get to have a say in how the business is run and they get part of the profits. What a special treat for the Americans who fought communism in the last century, to know that Bush and the federal government has enabled China to become business partners with a supposedly US company that builds nuclear facilities all the while earning a profit from it! Communism would bankrupt itself and disappear, but you "free traders" are feeding it and keeping it alive. Why you're doing worse than that, you're institutionalizing it with 'public private partnerships' in this country.
Why on EARTH would you promote that communist corrupt arrangement here? What is it about communists that make people like you turn on the American people?

partership: an association of two or more persons or entities that conduct a business for profit as co-owners
public private partnership : an association of a corporation and a government that conduct a business for profit as co-owners
China/Westinghouse conducting a business for profit as co-owners
Thank you "free traders"

Well, I tried. I assumed for the purposes of the argument that PPP’s are as bad as you claim in order to try to move it forward. You failed.
To: 1rudeboy
You tried to assume? They clearly are as bad as anything.
