Hey Mark,
I just updated my Avast (to ver. 4.8.1201) and upon restart, it flagged my Superantispyware as a Trojan. I didn’t find anything on the Avast website so I sent them an email.

I’m also not sure if it is a false hit or a valid flag. I’ve been running Avast for over a year with no problems. This might not amount to much but two weeks prior, I got hit with the AWOLA virus. YES, Avast was installed and running. After researching and installing Superantispyware, I was able to eradicate the AWOLA virus.

I guess we will see how this turns out, but conspircy theorists would have a field day with this one.

Why would I, (why the xxxx Should I) remove superantispyware when it eradicated an attack that Avast didn’t detect OR even prove a remedy for.

rant for now,
skevin

Well, I was able to install the newest version of Solarwinds tftp server. I would imagine that it’s just a false positive.

Thanks and good luck.

Mark
