I pity the women who fall for silly fads like this.
They lack confidence in themselves and have no style of their own.
how silly... and how so very obvious to see some well-groomed celebrity with purposely chipped nail polish...
I am far more horrified at the thought of women spending $5000 on a purse than I am at chipped polish (which I still don’t like)
There’s no in between, anymore.
A woman either has a $5,000 purse, fake tits, and a collection of maxed out credit cards, or she looks like a crack ho with tattoos, a thing stuck through her tongue, and a dirty face.
If they really don't care and truly are too busy to bother, it would easier, cheaper, and better looking to just not get a manicure at all.

So am I. I don't think I would ever spend money so frivolously even if I had millions. It's just so wasteful.

Well, technically no. Chipped polish still looks better than loads of cuticle and/or dirty finger nails.

Under 35 or over 35, it’s never okay to have chipped nails. Stylish women don’t go longer than one to two days, or at most a week, without removing their chipped polish. Maybe the author feels guilty about her own nails and wants to start a trend.
Where do you live? There are plenty of us normal, well-groomed women out here.

I suspect that in most cases “a $5,000 purse, fake tits, and a collection of maxed out credit cards” means she is trying to appear successful so as to attract a successful husband. Successful men rarely fall for flat-chested poor girls, so these women are trying to make the playing field level.
My strong belief is that BOTH sexes tend in general to choose mates on shallow, foolish criteria—too many men looking for women with big boobs, too many women looking for men with big wallets. To be fair, many men have seen women let themselves go after marriage and are trying to find women who won’t do that; many women have seen that financial problems caused by a husband who can’t get on track with a career can make married life hell, so they are both protecting themselves.
I don’t want to start one of those 4000-post threads about How Terrible Women Are!
When I was single, painted up nails was the LAST thing that caught my attention!

I have a farm, and I’m maintaining livestock out of two barns. Quite a bit of manual labor involved. A few coats of nail polish makes my nails much stronger, and seems to keep them from breaking below the skin. So nail polish can actually serve a purpose!
I prefer RED RED RED!
Chipped nail polish is trashy looking.
When I wear it, red is all I buy. Sometimes my grown daughters will put black or purple on my nails but as soon as they leave - off it goes.
