WASHINGTON (AP) - Cindy McCain, who two weeks ago said she would never make her tax returns public, revealed Friday that she had a total income of more than $6 million in 2006.
The presidential campaign of her husband, Republican John McCain, released the top two summary pages of her 2006 tax return, eager to avoid making her earlier refusal an issue in the contest.
The documents show that Mrs. McCain, who files her taxes separately from her husband, paid more than $1.7 million in federal income taxesa tax rate of more than 28 percent. She reported nearly $570,000 in itemized deductions.

I do not care how much money the woman makes or has.
What is the big deal about her income?
That’s all ?
I thought it would be more than that.
I hope John is okay with this . I know how he hates people that serve (beer) for profit and not for patriotism .
Her deductions are 5X my annual income.
” Her deductions are 5X my annual income. “
Your annual income is 2X my annual income .
Point taken.
"It is laughable for the campaign to release so little information and say they are being transparent," said Karen Finney, the communications director for the Democratic National Committee. "This is another indication that John McCain is not serious when he says he wants to run a transparent campaign, and a disturbing sign that a vote for John McCain is a vote for four more years of secrecy."

“Her deductions are 5X my annual income.”
Sorry, I just cannot communicate with ‘little people.’
Can you imagine making that kind of money year after year after year, for your whole life? What bothers me is how today that’s a negative, as if there’s something wrong with being rich. I grew up in an America where we all wanted to be and had the opportunity to be rich, and it was considered a great thing. Plenty of us (present company excluded) made it, too.
Good for her!
And we care why? She paid taxes. Check the Kennedys, Rockefellers, etc, to see what they paid.
YES WE CAN!</Obama Rally>
and all my imaginings will be as empty as Obama’s promises :)
Good for her.
I’m eating dog food and drinking Keystone beer.
Where did I go wrong?
I bet she had more. For gosh sakes; she has one of those beer distributerships.
To echo a previously posted sentiment....Good for her.
When I was growing up, it was being rich and/or being President.
Now if you are conservative, you are a pariah for wanting either
