They’ve been using CGI since the second film (the heart ripped out of the victim was done with early morphing techniques).
That said, I don’t like CGI, especially the heavy reliance on it these days. At a point, you are watching “Shrek” (which is a better computer cartoon than it is a live-action film).
And the effects of Ray Harryhausen and Willis O’Brien and others may have been “fakey” but there was an incredible element of fantasy about them. Something missing from movies today.
Speaking of FX, I'm surprised that Lucas hasn't pushed for new graphics for the "melting Nazis" scenes at the end of Raiders. Spielberg must be unwilling to mess with it.
I’m surprised he hasn’t digitally edited the guns out like he did in ET.
You won't be disappointed. ;o)
I loved the movie, by the way - especially the ending.
This movie is a incredible crap. Spielberg is totally out of touch. Fans will never forgive him.
The Comunist Russians were the bad guys (its the 50's) who got their comeuppance and students on Indy's campus (they used YALE) were holding a rally with anti communist RED signs reading "Better Dead than RED"!
A good time was had by all. Go see it, you won't be disappointed.
I would’ve figured that the protesters at “Yale” in the movie were being potrayed negatively.
Liberals in 1957 were quite open about being for the Communists. They’d already defeated McCarthy by 1955. They saw nothing wrong with being Communist. They considered it a matter of free speech. Even when they silently (but were honest among fellow travellers) in allegiance to Joseph Stalin and the USSR.
