Fantastic
Just saw that Lester is the first BoSox southpaw to pitch a no hitter since 1956. Pretty impressive...
NICE!!
credit when due.....congrats Jon Lester
Lester had 9 strikeouts , 2 walks and 130 pitches.
No hitters are always cool no matter who does it but I prefer the youngsters.
Great story. Overcomes cancer. Pitches game seven of the World Series. Pitches no-hitter.
The kids got stuff. Gonna be a good one.
Red Sox staff...two no hitters in the last two years by pitchers under 25. Enough to make Yank-off fans cringe.
BTTT
Thats not true. Clay Buckholtz did it last season.

Not only was this Lester’s first no-hitter, but it was also his first complete game.
And it was the second no-hitter in as many seasons for the Sox. Clay Buchholz, a product of the Red Sox’s farm system just like Lester, did the honors last Sept. 1 against the Orioles.
The Red Sox have had four no-hitters in the 21st century. Hideo Nomo threw one in Baltimore in 2001, and Derek Lowe no-hit the Rays in ‘02. Of those four no-hitters, only Nomo’s took place away from Fenway Park.
Mel Parnell was the last Red Sox lefty to pitch a no-hitter(1956).
He's a right handed pitcher.
Clay Buchholz is a righty.
Before Parnell, only Dutch Leonard and Jesse Tannehill were the only Red Sox lefties to pitch no-hitters.

ESPN showed the ending of that game here, always great to see. The announcers made almost as much noise as the BoSox fans.
when I went back to read the statement that it was the first lefty since 56’, I realized that I was mistaken.
I stand corrected.
Good for him. They showed the top of the 9th on ESPN.
