Just another fine day in Redneck Land!
There's all sorts of odd folks in the Big East Woods.
And some of us even go up there from the big city to get in touch with our Inner Redneck. :-D
Yea, I know. And sometimes I'm jealous...sometimes... but not often.
I meant to say One of the Real Texases, since there are at least five distinct Texases, maybe more.
In the event we decided not to swing down to San Antonio, and instead just did the nickle tour of Fredricksberg, where I'll take in the Nimitz Museum of the Pacific War tomorrow, and then on down to Kerrville, where we ar now ensconced. Wife has some stupid meeting or something at the YO Ranch Resort Hotel, from which I'm now posting. Plan is to hit San Antonio for supper tomorrow. Then more meetings for her, and lazing about for me, on Tuesday. Then back to central Texas.

The Big East Woods (aka The Big Thicket) were settled, if you can call it that, before the Gringos got down to San Antonio de Bexar or the Austin Colonies. But some of those Scots-Irish that did the settling were passing strange folks it's true. Most of 'em were running from the law I'm told, that being a pretty lawless place at the time.
Did you know that it was a Captain Sylvester that captured, or at least helped capture, old Santa Ana? I guess that was pretty close to Las Casas de HAT, especially Eaker.
