>> 1. Most MAC users are obnoxious a**holes about their MACs vs. PC. They will never admit that a PC can be good. <<

Ya know, when you drive a nice looking car, people say, “ooh, nice car.” Unless it’s ridiculously expensive, or Euroweenie, no-one says: “Oh, God... he’s got an Acura; he’s GOT to be a conceited, uber-liberal, smarmy, smug fartsmeller.”

If Mac users could only just have the attitude, “Yeah, I spent an ungodly amount of dough for my computer, but isn’t it cool?”, people would like Mac users. It’s the attitude they have that all PC users are stupid, accursed, yadda yadda yadda, that’s why everyone who doesn’t use a Mac hates Mac users.

Case in point: I’ve always had at least two PCs since 1994. I’ve never spent more than $600 on one. I’ve never replaced one in less than four years. I’ve never called for service except for laptops. Most everyone I know has had similar experiences, except maybe some paid a little more for newer PCs. The sole exceptions have been connectivity-related driver issues from the 1990s, which Mac solved back then by telling people up front that they simply couldn’t use unsupported hardware at all.

Yet I get a bunch of Mac bots insisting that everyone who uses a PC must always be having their computers crash and serviced from the moment they get theirs.

So go ahead, tell me how fast your new car goes from 0-60. Tell me you get 50 MPG with your new hybrid engine. Good for you. My 1999 Buick suits me fine, and I’m saving up for a downpayment on a house. Don’t tell me it sucks. That just makes you an ***hole.

Your conversational skills remind me of a PC. Something lacking.

Hey pal, my house is paid for. If you are driving a 1999 Buick you would be a person of suspicion in my neighborhood. I have bought at least 200 computers for my office over the years. All of them except my Compaq Proliant servers were junk that lasted on average 2 years. In contrast, I have an eight year old Mac dual G4 still chugging along performing its’ duties. I bought a brand new XServe about three months ago. Best, most rock solid heavy duty machine I have ever seen, and I have had SUN Sparc’s that were over $25,000. On top of that my entire office is running on iMacs...going on two years now. Not a single issue. My old network support guy said all windows machines needed to be wiped clean and everything reinstalled once a year. My experience was more like every 6 months.

My Denali goes to 60 pretty fast, my Suburban is a little slower but so what, and my Silverado 3500 with a 8.1 litrer and Allison tranny gets probably less than 7 MPG...now that car sucks, does that make me an asshol#?

The thing is I've been a Windows user since the 286 version and I still am. When it came time to replace my main home system I decided on a Mac instead of Windows again, and I got what I believe was a good value.

What you perceive as superiority is a bunch of people who have found something much, much better and want to help others by letting them know. The only problem is most responses are full of the above myths ("ungodly amount of dough") instead of being informed.

That's hard to believe unless you were buying old, used stuff. A fairly loaded 486 cost well over $2,000 in 1994 (which was after the Pentiums came out as the high-end machines). I didn't hear about sub-$1,000 machines until the late 90s.
