Robert “Mutt” Lange is no longer still the one for Shania Twain.
The country/pop superstar and her music producer husband are splitting after 14 years of marriage, her rep confirms to OK!.
“Shania Twain and her husband, music producer Robert “Mutt” Lange, are separating after 14 years of marriage,” Jason Owen tells OK!. “This is a private matter and there will be no further comment at this time.”
The 42-year-old singer met Mutt when he was recruited to work on her album in the early 1990s. They married on December 28, 1993 and have a 6-year-old son, Eja D’Angelo.
At the beginning of their relationship, the couple weathered much flack and criticism because of their 17-year age difference while others felt Shania was using the red-hot producer to further her career. In response to their detractors, the two wrote “You’re Still the One,” which became Shania's biggest hit to date.

Affair Reportedly Caused Twain Split
(May 20) -- While Robert "Mutt" Lange says that the reason for his breakup with longtime wife Shania Twain was "literally just growing apart," PEOPLE sources say the recluse producer was having an affair with the couple's secretary.
According to the PEOPLE sources, Lange was romantically involved with Marie Ann Thiébaud, who was a secretary and manager of Twain and Lange's Switzerland home. And despite Lange's denials, one source says that he and Thiébaud "left their spouses for each other and are still in a relationship."
Lange also denies having any affair. "It's absolutely not the reason [for the separation]," the he told PEOPLE.
A PEOPLE source reports that country superstar Twain is "devastated" over the split, which "came out of left field."
Twain, 42, and Lange, 59, have been married for 14 years. They tied the knot in 1993 and have a 6-year-old son, Eja D'Angelo, together.

If that is Marie in the background, then she looks like the female version of Lange. Not very good-looking at all. Shania did the right thing in getting the hell out of there!
I can just her Mutt singing in the shower: “Man, I Feel Like (Another) Woman!”
Yeah the story is weird. But you know? Maybe she is an absolute pain in the rear. And it’s got to be hard being married to such an icon. Maybe he cracked under the constant strain. We’re all human. Not that I’m condoning adultery in any way — I’m rethinking instantly and completely blaming only one side.
Okay, so let's say that she's a real pain in the rear. I know you stated that you're not condoning adultery (neither am I) -- but, you know, Shania was the one touring the world in order to 'bring home the bacon', so the least Mutt could do is to keep his pants up and take over the household while she brought in the moulah.
If he is, as has been reported for decades, such an anti-social and anti-people person, then he was in the perfect marriage -- the wife was the one working while he stayed at home with the baby and his personal studio.
I see these sorts of cases on Maury Povich all the time -- "You weren't there for me" or "You worked too many hours and I never saw you", etc.
Yea, Mutt, your lifestyle(s) require a lot of working hard on Shania's part, since she's the star, and of your producer gigs, which pay less.
