I really didn’t get that one. What’s the problem with red nail polish?

Back in those days, only 'loose' women wore red nail polish (or any bright color for that matter).

Yep. My Mom was young then, before she was married in ‘42, and red nail polish was risque. But they all still wore it, as well as lipstick.

I especially liked the being dressed for breakfast.
