Corporations pay less taxes — and taxes for the people go up and up and up to make up for the shortfall.

Corporations pay no taxes. YOU pay them in the price of their product and services.

My department spent over $100,000 on hockey tickets for the Hurricanes this past season. And with that investment we obtained millions in business.

Yes, that’s correct. Corporations include in the price of their products and services what they should pay the government in taxes. The money (part of which is to cover taxes) is collected from the consumer and should be passed on to the government.

That’s my point. Instead of the corporations giving the money (they got from the consumer for tax) to the government, the corporations use loop-holes, such as entertaining EXPENSE to avoid passing on the money (they collected from the consumer) to the government.
