$150 * 81 games = $12,150
$850 * 81 games = $68,850 for 1 season ticket.
$137,700 if you also want one for the wife or a kid.
Great to see that the average Joe can participate in America’s National Pastime.
Hillary: "Well, that $109 million should just about cover our expenses..."
I take that back. She'll probably demand an "Excess Profits Tax" on Big Baseball.
A major reason this outrageous situation has evolved the way it has is because Wall Street brazenly steals money from the rest of America, in large part through the 401k scam, and has actually talked J6P into believing he’s receiving a service from them! That’s why the money is concentrated in NY to bid these things up to the stratosphere.
Don’t go, and pocket the $137,700. In 20 years, you’ll have $137,700 times 20, plus interest.
I have more free advice if anyone is interested.
Surely that’s only a drop in the bucket for one player’s salary...
On first read, what with it being late and all, and probably a bit because I’m a non-sports person, I just *knew* you must be mistaken. Surely, you misread and it was $150.00 per seat per season. Right?
So I re-read the article and my jaw dropped. 150 dollars per game? 12,150 per seat per year?
Really?
No way.
How can a family ever afford even a tiny fraction of that? Who is populating the stands?
I hung out @ the stadium in the late 70’s....Got in for free for every game and I was there almost every night (knew the security guards)...bought $4.50 bleacher’s and sold them for $20.00 during the 78 world series..(a much better team back then)...Only paid for parking.....Haven’t been there since....Not paying for any ball players salary...
The average Joe just gets to help pay for the stadium now.
