Yep. I started another bed for herbs there around the shepherd’s hook. Well... I put up a plastic border and filled it with leaves. I’ll be piling compost and store-boughten dirt in it later on.
I double dug one of the beds so I can plant beans and melons. I also need to move the rest of the ornamentals out of the tomato bed.
I’m pooped just thinking about it!
Oh. And I have to mow the weeds.
I saw those headlines on FR. I’m not surprised; he’s been overweight for years, and that’s WAY stressful on the body. I can’t stand the man, but I’m not going to wish him ill.
So...you like to watch?
Jr. "mowed" the front yard for me Thursday. I told the Mrs. that another reason he should join the military is that they'll teach him to walk in a straight line...
Yeah, same here. I told people on my blog post that snarky comments, and commenters would be deleted.
I dunno what that means...fer once.
Um...it didn’t work for me.
But maybe that’s ‘cause I was in the Air Force instead of the real military...
It’s Peter Sellers in “Being There” which was out before you were born or when you were very young (1979).
He’s Chance the Gardner who has lived a very sheltered life, with his only contact being the TV. When his employer dies, they take his simpleton statements as profound wisdom and he is eventually selected to replace the President as President “Chauncey Gardner.”
One of his typical phrases when asked his opinion is “I like to watch.” Which to him means “I like to watch TV.”
Sure... we’re here, they’re here... :~)
Yeah - momma cat was back up on top of the cabinet when I went out to feed this morning, so I was glad to see her there.
It didn't work for me either, which is why they tried, and failed, to dump me off on OCS.
Okay, but if I can get him out of my house and off my payroll, I can hire someone to mow the yard...
(actually, I’ll do it myself, but with my back and arthritis some days are more difficult than others)
The back yard (largest) is mowed...which is better than watching the Cubs blow it in the 9th...I guess. I still have the front to do (while the mower is still warm enough to start easily) and won’t take as long. Then I’ll have passed the “bum” title down the block.
Try being an Indians fan....
1908......
At least there are no broadleaf weeds in Wrigley Field.
Ramius, you been spiking Hair’s Kitty formula with the odd shot of Wild Turkey. It’s rumored they like it.
Sounds like the garden is coming along well. We got some Liatris bulbs for half price at earlmay. Got just the place for them. LSA needed bird food for the feeders. Picked up some marigolds, orange red and red orange two tones for the area where the tulips are. Looks like we’ll have some wonderful iris this year, yellow, white, purple and blue. First daylily flower today, early bloomer that plant is.
My iris are blooming like crazy!
I’m too pooped to pop right now so any more gardening chores will have to wait until tomorrow. I want to get cantaloupe, beans and spaghetti squash planted. I might plant some sunflowers too although they’ll probably just end up as bunny chow.
This is going to be a great year for them, ours haven’t done that well in the past few years, running around 50%. This year, holey catz, they are all blooming, we actually forgot we had some of the colors that are showing up.
Been spending the PM assisting the mods by hitting the abuse button on some of the stupider comments on the Kennedy threads. Lot of dodos out there, although substantially fewer after the day long ZOT festival by the mods.
