Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!
Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!
O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.
O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.
O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!
Cubs win! Cubs win! Cubs win! Holy Cow!
Now UNC is blowing it....falling back on their patented turnover strategy.
We’re back- all was well...
We bought the trailer but we don’t have it yet.
He’s going to take it down Monday or Tuesday and have the right plug put on it for our truck and have the bearings inspected/repacked, and then I’ll pay for it then and pick it up. We stopped on the way home and bought the right size ball.
Of course they are, they have the Browns’ old coach. Watch when he starts with the prevent defense, your blood pressure will go up.
Heh. This turnover strategy is part of the Carolina tradition.
My uncle said he could lose games for ‘em for half the salary.
Jackson report—he spent the afternoon asleep up in the chair in OB’s treasuretrove/clothesroom while Annie was asleep downstairs; no doors shut anywhere. When Annie decided to go up our room to sleep, we did shut her in since she and Jackson were pretty close and we were downstairs. When I fed Gypsy, Jackson came down, had some dinner and left refreshed after a good nap where he didn’t have to keep one eye open for any dangers of either the two or four-legged kind. He is such a dang cool cat, I really like him, but he’s (a) not mine and (b) an outside cat. (sigh)
LSA
Well he’s kind of like your cat. He comes around takes care of the rodents and you don’t have to pay any of his vet bills.
LOL—since you put it that way....LSA
We had a close call this evening.
Went to Staples to buy us new office chairs (ours went to the landfill this afternoon). We walked next door because Luke wanted to see the animals at Petsmart. We checked out the shells for hermit crabs and didn’t buy any. Then we went over to the kitteh adoption area.
It was close. But we escaped unscathed.
Evening Hair & Ecurbh - Camper Trailer? Way Cool. What did you get a pop-up or travel trailer?
New office chairs, cool. The best one I ever had was an old wooden one. When we moved office locations, it somehow got waylaid between cubicles. It never surfaced so it was likely liberated (but not by me, unfortunately).
It's as old as I am, but it's very clean inside. The goal is something that can be out in the pasture, self contained and away from the trees, that is more comfortable for us and the dogs to sit in on those bad nights than the cab of the Ranger.
We should have lights and heat and we should stay dry, unless we get swept away by a twister. ;~) For long term sustenance after the storm blows over, if the power is out we have the generator and the house and the barbecue and other ways to live. We just need a storm home that won't get hit by a tree. And I guess I just like the idea that if, heaven forbid, a tree does fall on this house, we have a place to sleep while we, and the landlord figure out what to do.
The thing on top of the table is actually an AC unit. We won't use that in the trailer but we may use it in the house! :~)
I stopped by for awhile at one or one-thirty...everything was quiet. Meant to post, but then family called....
Fair enough, thanks! Everyone was fine when we got home. :~)
You know all those Jeff Foxworthy jokes about houses on wheels, the porch fallin’ and killin’ more than three dogs and all that?
Yer dangerously close.
Not that anything’s wrong with that...
Heh... yep. We’ll be shure ta take a pic with a hound under it and ecurbh sittin’ there with no shirt on and a shotgun. ;~)
Very nice looking travel trailer; and your plan for an alternative to the pickup cab is quite ingenious. Kudos for planning ahead.
The couple that have it said they laid 2x4s across between those two bunks and a sheet of plywood, and made it into a queen bed, so that’s my next project to figger out when I get it down here and stocked up. :~)
Go Cubbies Go.
