The Hobbit Hole XXXVI - O! Water cold we may pour at need...

Posted on 05/03/2008 8:48:06 AM PDT by HairOfTheDog

Welcome to The Hobbit Hole!

Sing hey! for the bath at close of day
That washes the weary mud away!
A loon is he that will not sing:
O! Water Hot is anoble thing!

O! Sweet is the sound of falling rain.
and the brook that leaps from hill to plain;
but better than rain or rippling streams
is Water Hot that smokes and steams.

O! Water cold we may pour at need
down a thirsty throat and be glad indeed;
but better is Beer, if drink we lack,
and Water Hot poured down the back.

O! Water is fair that leaps on high
in a fountain white beneath the sky;
but never did fountain sound so sweet
as splashing Hot Water with my feet!

Still trying to figur this one out.

You forgot the 'Oops'. It was supposed to be whimsical humor. Guess it wasn't very funny, but whimsy never is all that hilarious.

Oh well, when you have to explain a joke it is time to give up on it.

Well, we had to price everything in the dark, but the yard sale is all set up, the signs are up, we're ready... At least I don't have a hurricane coming.

Isn’t that what hurricanes usually are? Rain and wind?

:~)

Good morning!

Hurricanes are supposed to blow!

Not much wind at all now. The local news is reporting some inland flooding and a few power outages. As long as trees aren’t dropping on me I can deal with it.

That's usually my measure of success too.

So I'm not having a yard sale (until Oct. 4 anyway), but my CafePress Shop has done almost $100 worth of business in the last 24 hours.

We could use a little wind... We’re socked in with fog and everything has dew on it!

Good Morning ALL - cool and damp here too. Waiting a bit to cut the grass. We’ve got a rainy day to look forward to when it finally gets here. Looks as if the rain is about half way from Emporia to us. Stay safe y’all.

We’re glad to hear that there wasn’t more weather where you were, OT.

Looks like the rain is here to stay for a bit, on the forecast everyday next week.

Power flickered off for a minute or so...

Has the yard sale started yet? Are you selling kittehs too?

Ya know... my mother in law says to me the other evening, "That Sarah Palin reminds me of you."
Me: "Whuh? How so?"
MIL: "The whole pit bull thing."

I'm still not quite sure how to take that. LOL

No kittehs in the sale.

Yes, it’s started. We’ve made about $25 so far I think. The first thing that sold was all the .38 and .357 brass for $15, and some other little stuff.

Are you going to return the kittehs to their mommas? Four mousing barn cats?

Heh, sounds like a good sale so far.

“Sold the brass for $15”

(I take it you’re not into reloading.)

Yeah - We’ll keep these two, and Wicket... they can be house cats or barn cats, their choice. :~)
