I got the lawn mowed, let the naybers’ dogses out for a walkabout, and then I found some blackberry bushes. Picked a bunch. There wasn’t enough for a pie, so I’m making a small cobbler instead in a square pan.
Mmmmm...fresh blackberry cobbler. It’s in the oven now...starting to smell tasty.
mmm. Cobbler, black berry, sounds really good.
Hopefully! It was a new recipe — really easy one that just involved adding sugar to the berries, mixing up a simple batter, and layering them in the pan.
And I happen to have some vanilla ice cream on hand.
If it’s good, there *might* be enough green berries still on the bushes to do this one more time before the year is out. If it doesn’t freeze first.
Our high temp for the day couldn’t have been more than sixty five or so, and it’s warmer than it has been. I think we’re pretty well done, as summer goes.
I meant “fascinating” as in “scares the lembas out of me.”
Well, thepool is closed for the season. School starts in the morning and Luke is in denial over the fact that tomorrow afternoon begins “no TV on school nights.”

brushhawged and plowed the foodplots... picked up the “Tumor Turkey” fan and “Tumor Buck” european mount... weed whacked in the morning and did odd maintenance around the ridge... alotta catchin’ up was done this weekend...
ended up the evening around the fire circle with thekidz doin’ s’mores....
therapy at 0730 tomorrow... and gotta make an appt with the orthapedic surgeon... have a torn meniscus in my knee from Feb...
goin’ tuh jump in the shower, drink a glass of vintage, and hit the rack...

Actually it’s Hanna that’s supposed to (as of now) hit South Carolina then turn north over us as a storm. Right now Ike is heading toward’s Cuba.
Then there’s Tropical Depression 10...
We got a good dose of rain from the remnants of Fay. But not enough to raise the water table back to where it needs to be.
I’m at the liberry. Using the high speed internet. Woman across from me right now is older...obviously not accustomed to using the computer. She pounds away at the keyboard like it’s an old manual typewriter. She clicks the mouse by slamming her index finger down on the button as hard as she can...like it takes a great deal of force to get the thing to click. Ocassionally she will pick the whole mouse up and slam it down onto the desk. I don’t know why she does that.
It’s all very loud.
I’m just sitting here cracking up watching her.
