It's all in the wiring ... GOD'S wiring ... and who can know HIM?
Seriously ... some questions just aren't going to be answered ... only because ... it's in the wiring.

knarf, I’m very inclined to agree with what you say, about there being something “in the wiring” that predisposes one for or against something.

This is anecdotal, but I remember the first time I was given beer by my father (I think I must have been 4 or so, just given the can to sip) and while it was not for me, my younger brother took a sip and the attempted to finish off the can!

I also think that one can “acquire” a taste for beer, certainly that is the case for me, and I now prefer hardier or more flavorful beers if I’m having one (Beamish Stout, Newcastle Brown Ale for example, although if a hard cider is available that would be my first choice...unless I’m in the mood for whisky or bourbon)
