Cool. LOL.
My Reverie
Of all of the places that I have been
to leave one out it would be a sin,
some were fun and some were not
some hotels had beds and some had cots,
my ventures in Italy were a blast
had so much fun but it didnt last,
from Napless Via Roma not far from home
to Via Veneto in Rome,
to the Coliseum made of stones that were heavy,
a visit to the fountain of Trevi
where people would make wishes and throw money
while all the while the weather was warm and sunny,
a ride along Amalfi Drive to the town of Sorrento
while climbing a twisting road through Fieto,
where pizza by the metre is sold
along with wine that was cold,
been to Pompeii and saw all of the houses that remained
that Zuma not Vesuvius created the ash that fell like rain,
Herculaneum is preserved and its images saved
because it runs under the modern day streets that are paved,
to Pisa and its leaning tower
to Milan where cars are made that have power,
then a dash down south to Sicily
to meet some distant cousins family,
and traveled to where famous battles were fought
and could only imagine the devastation that was brought,
some monuments remain to this day
as a badge of honor that wont go away,
as an tribute to those that have died
their day in the sun will not be denied.
