Thank you, Mr. Mayor, for our daily Bible reading and devotional. Maybe it will help me get my work done~~~(not maybe, but will.)
Id like to say, “Thank you, that well never know
The outcome if you had not gone,”
And to tell you, “Ill never forget your deed,
As long as my life lingers on.”
For, I was a child, when the great war came,
And you just a dozen years more.
Some of you fought on a distant beach.
Some died on a foreign shore.
Id hate to forget those heroes of old,
From the ‘War to end all wars’.
Korea, Vietnam, and Desert Storm
Proved that men fight evermore.
God, help us all when brave men say,
“Not today. Lets just wait and see.”
For, tyrants come in so many ways
And Ive heard of complacency.
When integrity falls in the dust by the way,
When conviction fails to command,
When theres no one to bugle or carry the flag,
What will become of our land?
So, heres to the heroes and heroines true!
Heres to the brave and the free!
With my hand on my chest as the flag passes by,
I remember what you did for me!!!

Ohh My, OESY
Everything has gotten blurred. The poem is a wonderful Tribute.
Thank you for this beautiful “Tribute To Armed Forces Day” and the graphic is perfect.
This morning I wanted to read through the thread at Amy’s Place to see what I missed yesterday.
Monday night, I broke a tooth off at the gum line. Yesterday was four hours drive time to see what is called a “Sedation Dentist” - the closest one to where I live.
Some of you may remember that I have a phobia about dentists - and it was a very long frightening day for me. I didn’t even come to Amy’s Place.
Now I see that I missed the birthdays of two of my favorite posters.
So, after I do a little search - I will properly wish Meg and OESY a belated birthday - I hope it was a good one for each of you. Hugs!!
Great .... Thank you.
OH, ouch! I am sorry about your dental emergency. Thank you for the good wishes!
Awesome Memorial .... is it Korea?
I’ve forgotten. Thank you.
Yes .... I remember your phobia, Yorkie.
Hope everything went well.
When I broke my tooth at the gum line, it was front lower so next week I will get a new 3-tooth bridge. This temp has been bothersome so I will be happy to get the permanent one.
Hope you are having a Wonderful Wednesday.
Yorkie, I hope you got that tooth fixed. Its terrible you have to drive that far! Wish there was one closer to you!
I had to go to dentist yesterday too. Mine had to be cleaned and she didn’t hurt me as much as she sometimes does. But I do get edgy for fear they are going to hit a nerve or something up around the gumline. I have a couple of tiny places to be filled next time, where the fillings have fallen out. Dentist make good money replacing fillings they put in before and then get to do it again! Darn!
Great Graphic for Armed Forces Day, Meg.
Thank you.
Are we going to be treated to pictures of your birthday gift to yourself? I’m looking forward to seeing them.
Have a Wonderful Wednesday.
Good morning, Jaycee.
Good to see you today. Dentist visits are a little unsettling.
Have a Lovely Wednesday.
The tooth will be extracted tomorrow afternoon. (It is on the top - right next to the two center teeth - and I look like a real bum.)
I think they will have to almost totally knock me out - or I will have a heart attack.....
They will then put in a temporary tooth called a ‘flipper’. It will look normal - but not too functional. I will be fitted with bridge in six to eight weeks.
I am getting palpatations just thinking about tomorrow......
WOW .... what a lovely graphic, Meg. Thank you.
We don’t have goldfinches. They are beautiful. Other areas of our country have birds that are much more colorful than the ones we have here. I always enjoy seeing pictures of these beautiful birds.
And you are One of them, OESY, a Very Valuable Part of this Thread; So Many Times I have Enjoyed your Posts, but I'm Always So Rushed I've Hardly Ever Thanked you! You are Appreciated, and it wouldn't be the Same Here Without you!
