I thought Eve was.
God spoke everything but Adam into existence. He formed Adam from the dirt with His hands and breathed His breath into Adam's nostrils. Eve was taken from Adam's flesh. I'm not sure about Adam but Eve was not exactly "created."
Either way, according to both the Bible and Science, human beings were most certainly NOT the first animal.
Ignorant of Science and ignorant of the Bible is no way to go through life.
