Reconsidering why I Considered even Reconsidered Considering Voting for McCain
opinion | 4-25-2008 | brianbaldwin

The statement “reconsidering why I considered even reconsidered considering voting for McCain” sort of doesn’t make any sense, but yet it does. Myself, as in millions of other Republicans, have a real dilemma in the behavior of John McCain. I wasn’t for him in the primaries, my candidate of choice lost. There has been a lot of talk about folks being “bitter”, as in the recent comments from that idiot Obama for example (oh, I’m sorry John, I guess I shouldn’t call Obama an “idiot”, should I? After all, you want to run a clean campaign, right?) . . . And perhaps I am being “bitter” in what I feel about the loss of my candidate in the Republican Primary contests, in part I blame the supporters of Huckabee and the outcomes of the Southern States in some cases for giving us a John McCain. But then again, folks should vote for whomever they feel is the best representative of the Republican Party, and I shouldn’t be bitter. Though even today, when I see Huckabee, the feeling I had then and now is, I was looking at a Park Ranger and not a Presidential candidate. He looked like a Park Ranger. He talked like a Park Ranger. He should be a Park Ranger.

Jokes aside.

So the Republicans ended up with John McCain as their selection. I wasn’t happy. But eventually, over time, I figured it was a horse race, and this horse won, and I suppose I should respect the choices of my fellow Republicans, and as more and more of the real face of Obama was revealed to us thanks to the internet and the new media (the "new" media verse the old "news" media), it was a real concern, especially since Obama at the time starting to look like he was going to take the Democratic nomination - this Obama guy with his cult following, his kook preacher whom he has given tens of thousands of dollars to including recent donations to this anti-Semite bigoted nut in the amount of over $20,000 dollars – well, it made me reconsider my first consideration of not voting for John McCain.

Really, it was the preacher thing that even made me change my mind, and to consider that perhaps I SHOULD be voting for Johnny. If the information about Obama, the preacher, the Million Man March stuff, et all, didn’t come out, I probably would have been one of those who was not going to even reconsider any consideration of not considering voting for Juan “12 Million More” McCain.

I guess you can say Reverend Wright saved John McCain.

Considering.

But what was looking like a “done deal” in Obama taking the Democratic nomination, it was starting to look like it actually may not be the case now – and I am praying for a Clinton squeaker simply because I consider Obama an abomination and that perhaps I could do my part over the internet and whatever tools are available to Americans to help in Rush’s “Operation Chaos” to mess up the heads of the enemy. And so I contributed what little I could as an agent of Chaos, both on the internet and in the streets among the Enemy of Democracy which is the Democratic Party. I tried my best to convince Democrats in California and beyond to send money, support and votes to Hillary, that actually she is the electable candidate and so on, and of course Obama’s “Reverend” was always part of the conversation.

And in the meantime I so decided, that I would be a good Republican and vote for John McCain. I reconsidered my consideration of not voting for him.

And then in the press there were new reports about all the money the Democratic candidates have for the Presidential campaign, much more than John McCain has.

I sort of felt sorry for John McCain. At that time, I went to his web site to take a look. I was actually surprise in what I read he had to say about one of my primary concerns which is the invasion of illegal aliens from Mexico who are now fomenting a crime way in the San Francisco Bay Area in which our neighborhoods are plastered with their gang graffiti, car jackings, guns in the face of our citizens and young children being killed by them – and it seemed that on John’s website he had “sort of” a change of heart. He was talking all about he “got the message”, that yes we need to lock down the borders now before there is even any consideration (or reconsideration) about what to do with the millions who are already here. That the criminals need to “go now” and all of that stuff. Even though I knew that after he has “sealed the borders” he was going to then give amnesty to those already here, the way I figured it was it would take some time to “seal the borders” so he would never get around to his amnesty part of the deal latter anyway being that the border is never going to be completely sealed anyway.

Something like that.

But I was sort of impressed.

A little while later, I decided to go onto his website, and then I hit the donate button and sent him money.

I had to fill out a bunch of question regarding the donation, including my home address, phone number, email address, who I work for and such.

Time went by.

There was no acknowledgment from the McCain campaign of the donation.

No emails for example. I mean, when I gave money to other Republicans in the past, for example when I gave money to my choice in the Republican Primary contests, I immediately got a “thank you” email back from them – they had my email. I even got mailers and such.

But there was no email from the McCain camp.

Maybe I gave the wrong email address?

So more than a week goes by – still nothing. No hair off my back, but heck, I was curious and perhaps I DID give the wrong email. So I go back to the same website, “John McCain – It’s Time for Action Tour”, http://johnmccain.com …

I donate even MORE money, and this time I am very, very careful to see if I put in the correct email or not.

Time goes by. Nothing. No return email, nothing.

I check my account, and indeed the donations went through, both of them.

I start to wonder, “What kind of campaign is he running, what kind of organization does he have working for him?” – certainly, it wasn’t “typical” of a candidate’s organization, you would think they would at least utilized technology to automate “thank you’s” and such, even if it is phony.

Then I noticed something on his website.

I went to the “Issues” section of his site. Some of the wording, did it change? I seemed to sound sort or more “liberal” than what I thought I read before. Perhaps I was on some DIFFERENT John McCain website in the past?

Perhaps I am having a senior moment. Emails. Words on a webpage.

But then, McCain is a senior, so I shouldn’t put anyone in any sort of categories. I mean, you KNOW the Democrats are going to use the “he’s too old” argument, and I don’t want to pile on anything just because I might be too old myself to even BE a Republican.

Emails. Words on a webpage. Considerations.

But boy, that Obama guy, he’s been really getting my gander, so – heck! I figured, I’ll STILL vote for John McCain! And you go, Hillary, go girl! After all, McCain going to clean her clock in the general.

Then it happens.

I hear about John McCain, and the “ad” controversy. Some ad run by some Republicans, associating Obama with his lunatic bigot preacher guy, which to me IS an issue, is a REAL BIG issue – I hear and see the ad, and I agree with it. Among “issues”, this is an issue that has damn consequences for our country and who we are about to select to lead our nation. It is very, very important.

And then I see Johnny saying “shame on you” Republicans for running such an ad. What he is saying is that it is “dirty politics” in so many words, and “isn’t talking about the issues”. And he condemns it.

What the?

Is this guy a jerk, or what?

Are you KIDDING me?

Not an issue?

We are NOT suppose to engage in “dirty politics”?

Look. If I want to talk about the preacher guy to Democrats to get them to support Hillary so that McCain can win the election, who is John McCain to tell me anything?

I mean, I am not saying “I represent the John McCain Organization”- I wouldn't get anywhere with Democrats anyway if I came off like that, and because I wouldn’t WANT to be on the “organization” besides, I am just one American making my own decision just like the Huckabee supporters made their decision, and in that “disgraceful” ad the Republicans were not representing John McCain or his “organization” in any official capacity or anything like that.

And Republicans if they have any sense probably SHOULD talk about Obama and his flirtations with the Black Muslims, and “God Damn American” type crowd, and him giving money to these deranged fools, because it IS an issue, it’s a damn big issue, and I don’t CARE if it’s dirty politics because politics is a fight and you get dirty in a fight.

Now I care.

Now I think I might reconsider my considering to reconsider my consideration to even consider voting for John McCain.

You know, the Democrats, they always seem to form a ring of fire and destroy themselves to the benefit of the Republicans. But in this case, I think John McCain, for all the circumstantial luck he has had, he may even outdo the Democrats in self-destruction in the end.

Even if his strategy is to look like he is “Mr. Clean”, well sure he doesn’t HAVE to run any ads telling it like it is about Obama or anyone … sure he can just “talk about the issues” if you will. But he doesn’t have to go out of the way to jump all over others, others who in no way are representing him or his organization, and try to make me, them, or us look bad for what we are doing just because we have very serious concerns about Obama.

There is something about John McCain, he sure knows how to pump up the feelings of all those phony liberal news types and “journalists” to make them feel good, and John McCain sure has a knack of trying, and succeeding, in making folks like me feel bad or insulting us, and it really makes me reconsider any considerations of him at all.

Can I get my donations back?

Right now I'm voting for our dangerous, contemptuous, vengeful, megalomaniac over one of their two dangerous, contemptuous, vengeful, megalomaniacs. I really don't know if I'm going to be able to hold on till November. I think even Rush may have been hinting about third party today.

While I agree with you he has a history of smearing conservatives, in this case he smeared no one. He merely distanced himself from an ad, that while admittedly an effective and fair ad, also carries certain risks of blowback. By distancing himself from it, he reduces those risks, and yet the ad still runs. Not only that, but by the act of distancing himself from it, he gives the ad more exposure.

McCain's move is a win-win.

Stop being so naive.

I didn't say McCain deserves his clean image. IMHO he's no cleaner than your average Senator, perhaps a bit less so. Nevertheless, he's been quite successful in cultivating that image, and in politics image is everything.

If the strategery is so schmart then why don't pubbies see it?

They lack cynicism, which is what politics is all about.

You think that stabbing your most loyal supporters in the back, on the most important issue facing this country [ethnic separatism and our coming demographic doom] is "very smart political strategy"?

Stop being such a drama queen. Nobody is stabbing anyone in the back. All McCain did was distance himself from the ad. His statement in no way hurts anyone in NC, and the ad still runs and hurts Obama. Even better, McCain's statement gives the ad national exposure.

Chill out and stop being so naive.

The race for the White House is allready over. No matter how you slice it, a liberal will win. Focus your efforts on Congress so at least there’s some balance.

The standard response here would be to tell you to go straight to hell, but I'm sure that that would get me in all sorts of trouble with the Admin Moderator, and, besides, a little prick like yourself is precisely the kind person to go and report me.

So, instead, I will wish you a nice day.

But please don't come whining to me when McCain can't match Obama's fundraising come autumn, or when we wake up on Wednesday, November 5, with an Obama presidency and massive DEM gains in both houses of congress.

Or, beyond that, a couple of decades from now, when Obama & Jeremiah Wright & their successors have carved you up into little pieces and fed you to the fishes, as part of their greater program for the Zimbabwe-ification of what was once known as the United States of America.

Did this one thrill you as well?

McCain Criticizes Katrina Response as ‘Disgraceful’
McCain took direct aim at the Bush administration on Thursday as he stood in the lower Ninth Ward of New Orleans, the area hardest hit by Hurricane Katrina in 2005, and declared that “never again will a disaster of this nature be handled in the terrible and disgraceful way that it was handled.”

Question: Is McCain the official Rep. candidate for the election in November?

Question: Can the Americans nominate someone else?

Thrill me? No, but it’s hopeful McCain has sense enough to realize that he has to draw a sharp distinction between himself and President Bush.
