I’m no fan of JFK, but at least he truly hated communism. Why is he such an icon? Seems clear that he would be run out of the Dem party today.

I would take JFK over all three top candidates today. No contest between JFK and Hillary/Obama. JFK would not be in the Democratic Party today.

Glamor and celebrity worship. Contrast the public image of the quiet older Eisenhowers and the younger party life of the Kennedys.
