I think she's doing that ... though I can't be sure she's not adding spaces where she shouldn't be. Note where she stated above:

Zevonismymuse -- be sure to not put a space after the <, and to not put a space before the >. Yes, I know, all the examples above (except mine) had those spaces, but those examples were misleading in that detail.
