The List of Ping Lists |
Life’s too short.
With ubiquitous low-power wide-area networking shaping up the way it is, you are going to be able to compress any length of audiophile-quality music into 64-bits per song.
That’s like billions and billions of high-quality songs on your keychain. No big deal; nothing to get one’s panties in a wad about.
bump
Sounds like you could store several full-length movies on your iPod along with your music.
Screw music compression....I want to know about just regular data compression...
Witch Craft!!! Stop this Now!(Sorry, Hillary)
Good luck syncing your iPod the first time. That would take years.
And as a result, the music will sound like mud.
Well this explains why last week suddenly all the mp3 newsgroups on my Usenet server disappeared.
I really enjoy listening to music that sounds like it was recorded inside a 55 gal. drum. Digital artifacts are the newest art form, from what I’ve been told.
Nah, this is too good for them. I suggest slow torture - Fifteen minutes of Nelly Furtado, then fifteen minutes of Kenny G, then 15 minutes of Barbra Streisand, then repeat. All on MP3, amplified through Crown amplifier and some white wan speakers. Until they come to their senses. Actually, ANY MP3 should be treated that way. It is plain evil, no better than nicotine, MSG, nutrasweet or other poisons taken out of convenience. IPod and other hard drive players can be loaded with lossLESS music. There is no excuse to consuming MP3, except to help music companies make profit without selling any substance. Loading Ipod with MP3 is no different than clogging your arteries with Transfats, because it is convenient. Remember how companies claimed that transfats are needed for packaged food to be tasty? When people rebelled, all of sudden, there is no transfats in food any longer. Ditto for MP3. If enough people STOP paying $1 a pop for a crappy MP3 and REQUEST Lossless file for $1 instead, Rotten Appple and other music vendors will have to offer lossless or go bust.
