Hi kassie.
I’m so glad you’re back!
It’s nice to be back.
How’s the grandchildren?
Good morning, everyone! I had a nice day with the grandkids yesterday but was I ready for bed last night! LOL!
Grandson is coming back tonight to spend the night, but he is not as high-maintenance as the girls. I had the girls spend the night Wednesday night, so I am having him here to even things up. It needs to be this week because next week he is back to school and spring soccer starts, which will use up all of his weekends.
Toby, good to see you posting! Jim, I am sorry about your cousin.
I will check in later today.
Know what you mean about the grandchildren, MM. Had the almost four and 19 months old boys all day yesterday. Was asleep by 8:30 and slept seven hours.
Grandkids are growing and cute, kassie.
;o)
The other three are five.....They will start Kindegarten in the fall.
Good Morning to the Dawn Patrol.
I drove home thru a blinding snowstorm yesterday. Fortunately, it was only about 30 miles of the drive. The other 60 miles was driving in rain.
Honestly, some of the snowflakes were as big around as tea cups. They’d splat on the windshield and turn to slush, which gunked up the windshield wipers.
I am ready to be finished with this weekly commute.
Also want to say how nice it is to have kassie back!!
Today my mother gets hooked up to a wound vacuum for the bed sore she has....not sure if I've mentioned this problem that she has, and we've been trying to get her moved around, etc., but have only been partially successful. I think this'll take a long while to heal. It all started back in the Ill. hospital.
Rain here overnight.
The Dems Difficulty Tom Bethell
I bet you have a lot of fun with those g.children. They’re at great ages.
Thank you Iowa Granny, it’s great to be back.
That hits close to home as it reminds me of the time a few years ago I heard the Bethlehem "Christian" spew his anti-Israel progaganda...
Late yesterday afternoon my husband went to hear a conservative writer who was speaking downtown. My husband bought me 2 of the author's books...autographed, plus a poster of Che Guevara - but this is the one that reveals that man's victims, NOT making him a revolutionary hero, thank goodness.
Finally...my husband talked to his brother last night, & they got to talking about politics. Not surprisingly, my BIL, SIL and youngest niece are all pro-McCain. BUT the older sister, who graduated from liberal CU-Boulder a few years ago and has strayed from the family fold that way is also supporting McCain.
Why??? Well, she was inclined towards O, but went to one of his rallys where she heard Rs described as Nazis. She thought, "Wait a minute...that's not my family!" Isn't that something??!!
Thinking of you as you deal with these issues for your Mom.
She must be very uncomfortable with the bed sore.
Hi Jane. Is your son’s family getting ready to move up to Chicagoland?
Thanks for the links.
Sure sorry to hear about your mom. I’ve never heard of a wound vacuum, hope it helps.
I don’t know which is worse-
snow in April or having to run the A/C in April !
(((kassie))))
Good to hear about the liberal sister! Yay!
Do think there will be a lot of people going for McCain that would normally vote Dem. Goodness! The Dem candidates are not just awful but downright scary!
Hope your Mom’s bedsore heals fast with the vacuum thingy.
Never heard of it either. Can’t say that I’ve ever seen a bedsore, now that I think about it.....
Hi, Molly!
No. They have re-thought moving, due to the real estate market and the fact that they have decided they don’t want to move the kids from all of their extended family on both sides.
DIL would have to commute to downtown for a job and there would be no support system for sick kids, soccer practice, late-night museum events, etc. My son continues to work up there and is coming home on weekends. He has started looking for something in this area but will keep his commitment to the company he is with through Christmas.
Meanwhile, my husband is living and working in Denver. He has a good job but it doesn’t pay enough for us to have him fly home too often. We want to keep this house so he is looking for a small apartment in Denver. He hasn’t tried too hard because he also had two other interviews and may be moving on from Denver to California or northern Manitoba.
I am SO glad we got AT&T cell phones for us! I can talk to either my husband or my son without incurring long-distance fees. I am keeping the homestead running here and selling things on ebay (stuff left over from my antique mall days plus odds and ends from here and things of my sisters’). It’s a pretty good income and requires no business wardrobe. HA!
I have shipped things to South Korea, Denmark, and Japan. I also was contacted by a French army major and put him in contact with one of my buyers, since they were both interested in an old book I had. Both are working on military history research and were quite interesting.
I am constantly amazed by the communication opportunities the internet offers.
I hope your mom gets better. I know how stressful caring for older parents is.
I did not know your husband worked out of town. Running two households can be tiring and expensive.
LB, 1/2 of my husband's family is conservative...the other 1/2...his father included, is kooky lib...sigh....
