I worked downtown once and went down to the exposition park area for lunch. Back when it was common to have streets closed for making a movie. There was am Arco gas station that sold some of the best chicken and boasted potatoes around. I saw LAPD all the time. I told one of LAPD officers that I really liked this place but I didn’t feel safe here at night. He just said, me too.
I love football much more than baseball, but just couldn’t miss this historic opportunity. About the only thing I watch on TV is FOX NEWS SUNDAY, football, an occasional NASCAR, and an occasional Simpsons.
Same here, but I'm also a lifelong very long suffering Giants fan. Zito carried over his piss poor spring training today and we still have no offense...Randy Winn batting 3rd should tell you the kind of offense we've got right now. Last year we were in the bottom of the NL in runs scored and in slugging pct.
It's gonna be a long summer for me...but hey, training camp in Napa starts in a few months. :)
I listened to a little bit of this game on the MLB Audio. From the highlights on espn saturday night it looked like a real event. What were all those poles and seemed to block the vision on tv. That would be a bit annoying.
The 60’ high left field screen had three posts, and the backstop has four. It was a fun nostalgic event. Like Woodstock, someday there will be 500,000 people claiming they were there.
I remember what an Army aviator friend once said. "When I come through the pass and see all those lights spread out down there, and think of all those broads, it's all I can do to keep from pullin' the throttles back and divin' right down in the middle of 'em!"
