Very good. Now, if rights come from God, how can a government have them? For a government to have rights, you'd have claim that governments--good, bad or indifferent--are ordained by God, who is the source of rights. In other words, you're claiming the "Divine Right of Kings."
People have rights. They create governments and give them powers to protect these rights. Governments don't have rights.
