My tragus’ are pierced - small, captive bead rings. I LOVE them and aside from my wedding rocks, er...rings, they’re pretty much the only jewelry I ever wear.

When I had to have an emergency C-section, the nurses insisted they come out as I was prepped for surgery. So, my husband tried. The nurses tried. I tried. Lather, rinse, repeat. Finally, my husband ran down to the car and got a pair of needle nose pliers from his tool kit. Eventually, they came out - but it delayed the C-section - which, if it was that big of an emergency like they claimed, the rings should have been a low priority. Getting them out was worse than the epidural.

I wonder how big this woman’s rings were for forced removal. Seems a bit odd to me. And with some rings, removal is really difficult - as is getting them back in later.

I’m curious. Why would a tragus ring need to come out for a C-section. Sounds like they were planning a very unusual location for the incision.
