There’s another side effect to the long hair that’s bad for the player. His hair is considered part of his body... which means you can be called out of bounds by your hair leaving the playing field, even if the rest of you is in bounds. I saw that happen once this past season.

I doubt it. In volleyball, the hair is not considered part of the body if it touches the net in a turning motion or other action that would cause the hair to move.

Wait a minute. Did the players hair actually touch the ground OB? If not, it was a BS call.
