Why do teens feel they must have cosmetic surgery? Vanity certainly has a price.
Now, that being said, one of my nieces had breast reduction surgery last year. She was suffering from horrible back pain. She feels much better now. But this wasn’t about vanity.
Was the “breast surgery” in the case of this thread a vanity operation, or something similar to what my niece had?

There is no such thing as “routine” surgery. I knew a guy who went into the hospital for a fairly simple nasal surgery. He was in a hospital room following surgery. He got up to go to the bathroom and fell there and bled to death from the reopened incision in his nose, before a nurse found him on the floor.
Why do so many people want to blame the victim for her allergic reaction to this drug, just because it was a cosmetic surgery.
I’ve known of people who died (or suffered brain damage) from a reaction to injected anesthetic before getting stitches, or injections intended to ease pain. Fact is, allergic reactions kill people unexpectedly no matter what procedure they are undergoing and this girl deserves sympathy, not scorn and judgement.
I think people would be surprised at how many women they pass on a daily basis have had breast augmentation surgery. It is probably the most common cosmetic surgery out there.
And men, how many of you have seen a women remove her top and then privately thought to yourselves, "She's hot but she sure has ugly boobs!" Yeah, I thought so. You don't think these women know when their boobs are less than appealing?
Not every girl who has had a boob job wallows in low self-esteem. Like getting teeth straightened, they're just willing to spend some money to correct what they feel is a flaw.
And what kind of doctor would do breast augmentation on an 18-year-old girl? Everything I’ve read about it says that a woman’s body can keep changing a bit into her 20’s, so most respectable doctors won’t give boob jobs (except reductions in extreme cases) on girls that young, even if they are legally adults. As in, if this girl had just waited a couple years to see what would happen, she might not have wanted or needed the surgery after all. I’m a bit older than she is, and I know that push-up and padded bras would have been a better, cheaper, and safer option.
And yes, many girls today have self-esteem low enough that surgery is one of the healthier options for altering their bodies... they’ll literally starve themselves to death because they think it’ll make them ‘pretty’ (although why they think anyone who looks like some starving refugee in makeup and designer clothes is ‘pretty’ is way beyond me).
Organizers charged $1 for each candle at the vigil - money that will be given to Kuleba's family for expenses.
As if her parents need the money. They certainly no longer need the Lexus. In fact, their expenses will be noticably lower. I would assign much of the blame to the parents for this death, although the doctors/clinic will be rightfully hammered in a civil action.
Who knows?

Even routine elective surgeries carry some risk, which teens and adults alike should be aware of and consider before going under the knife. Maybe this death can at least spur other people to consider the potential consequences of cosmetic procedures.
Graduation present gone bad

Is this the wonderful “socialization” ( or should I say “sexualization”) that homeschoolers are missing?
this is pretty sad. do girls today really have self esteem this low they feel need to get surgery to alter their bodies?
Yes . Especially in Boca where there seems to be a rather large populace of people who are self absorbed .
