Color me weird and a cynic, but I thought the song about change, plus all the waterworks and drama over the song and civil rights, were designed to subtly support Barack Obama.

I was with Syesha right up until she mentioned civil rights. Nothing wrong with that, of course, but you're right--that and the song about "change" on the same day as a primary ... She dropped a couple of points for me.

I took that to mean that Syesha researched the song and it meant more to her because of that. In reference to herself, I thought she was saying that a change had come into her life (a long time coming) due to American Idol and her success. A dream fufilled.
