"Burying one’s parents is one of the hardest things that people have to experience in life. I had to do it back at the end of 2004 and it sucked."

March 31st marked 4 years since my father's passing. Much more difficult than I thought it would be.

So sorry to hear about Elliot's loss. You could see the closeness between he and his mom. She did a good job.

My prayers for Elliot and his family.

Elliot’s mom died? I didn’t see that anywhere. I know he was very close to his mom.

April 4th will be 14 years since my dad's been gone. It seems so much shorter than that.

You could tell how proud Claudette was of Elliott. I took my girls to the Idol concert for season 5. She came in during intermission for the 2nd half when Elliott was going to sing. The whole arena went wild! They put a spot light on her and she waved at the crowd as she made her way to her seat (she was walking with a cane, and was frail even then). She was definitely a favorite. Prayers for their family...things are going to be tough on Elliott for a long while.
