Some time ago, perhaps less than a couple of years, I read an article about a 'doctor' in San Francisco, who was born male, but had a sex change so he could live with his lesbian girlfriend, as a lesbian.

Uh, if he liked women, well, that's natural enough, ok! But no, he didn't want to be a man, but didn't want a sex-change, converting himself into being an [ahem] woman, because he wanted to be with men...

Then again, many guys would say they are lesbians, of course...but how many actually want to abandon their own equipment just to be one?
