Thank you, everyone, for your kind words and prayers. For those of you who know me from posting, you know how much I love my pets- especially my dog. This has been a hard 10 months... I lost my cat, Dusty, in June 2007 and then her buddy, who died from grief, three months later. Now, I have Daisy and one cat- the fewest animals I've ever owned.

Daisy is the perfect dog. I have never had a dog like her. She is exceptionally intelligent, kind, and loving. She loves everyone and everything. She even stood guard over a painted turtle I took in, and protected it from the cats. When I nursed a ten day old kitten to eight weeks old, she guarded him like he was her pup... and played with him as her grew stronger and more bold. Last summer during our daily walk, she protected me from an aggressive dog, sacrificing her nose for me. To this day, whenever we walk past that farm, she moves to my left side to be between me and the farm dog.

She was sent from Heaven to be my friend, my companion, my furbaby for ten years, so I can understand why God would want to call her home. Just not yet...

What a beautiful animal. Prayers for Daisy’s full recovery and for your ongoing strength.

What a coincidence. My 15.5 yo Shepherd mix is having surgery to remove a softball sized tumor in her abdomen Wednesday. I came home at lunch to find it had hemorrhaged. Vet says she's otherwise fine and if she survives surgery she could live a yr or two. I thought she could manage to get by without surgery since it's benign but now that it's bleeding out it's not an option. So I can certainly appreciate your emotions right now and hope it goes well.

You can see part of tumor here in this picture.
