I have a new macBook, a year old iMac, a 4 year old Emac.
Of the three, only the Emac has crashed more than twice a year, and I have never had to spend more than 2 minutes on figuring out problems, let alone put in service calls.
I think that buying the apple service plan is a waste of money.

Who can say this about their crap PC machines?
not to mention that my 1991 powerbook that still runs for fun.

I have the service plan because I am relatively new to Macs. I found that unlike MSFT, there was always someone - a COURTEOUS someone - on the other end of the line - day or night - when I needed the help. I don’t even TRY to contact MSFT when a Windows machine goes down anymore. Nobody’s home and even their knowledgebase seldom helps anymore.
