Plus, it’s an convienent distraction from the real issue of Obama’s association with Wright.....
If you by into the “white grandmother” argument you make this an issue regarding race which plays cleverly into Obama’s strategy to mask the real problem.
The issue is Obama’s association with a radical hate-spewing racist leftist and his unwillingness to distance himself is the problem.
The rich irony of this statement, of course, is that stereotyping is at the very heart of racism. The fact that it comes out in a conversation rather than a speech seems to indicate that it’s how he really thinks.
