The lady said they are Great Pyrenees. I learned a lot about them having never heard of them before today.
What a great way to get a pair of dogs. I can see why people thought that they had Golden in them. Great Pyranees look like big, white Goldens to me. All I know about GP is what I learned on Animal Planet's "Breed All About It" show. They will be quite happy living outside -- especially in a warm climate like LA. They are herding dogs and normally live with the sheep. You might want to shave them in the summer for comfort, although I have always thought that those heavy coats insulate against heat -- but most people shave the Newfies and the GP around here in the summer (Wisconsin).
I'm glad to hear that they had been well cared for. You said that one of the children in the house had some disabilities. I think these dogs will be great with her -- very protective. They'll think of her as their lamb.
Lucky, lucky dogs and lucky, lucky dog parents.
You're right. I don't know if they have a sixth sense or something but they will lay down by her feet and stay. If she starts to get up they move away from her very quickly.
She can lead Grace on the leash but I won't let her near Lilly on one. Lilly wants to pull you and that's something my little girl can't handle, she doesn't have the stability for that.
Thank you so much. It's been a very tiring day and I smell like a dog. lololol
