I grew up near her....used to go over to her house as a kid some...back before she became the literary darling she ended up being.

She was extremely approachable.

OK, now that’s a fine area of Newark, the Ironbound. But what does approachable mean exactly?

I had sympathy for her. Call me stupid but I did for her and the family.
