It is a .308 diameter projectile (bullet) so I found it just as easy to pick up a used Ishapore Enfield chambered in .308 Winchester (cartridge). Best regards,

Good grief, I just looked this up and the .303 British has one "Plinker" projectile (bullet) in .308 diameter and the others are all .311 diameter.
What a difference a loading maual makes!

I have an Ishapore Enfield in .308 as well as a good mix of other Enfields in .303.
.30-06 vs .308 or .303 vs .308 - Sigh, I like the “real deal” better.
Don't get me started on my 8MM Mausers.

I wish I'd bought 6 of 'em when I had the chance. Fine shooters for $125.00 each.
