The best Free anti-Spyware programs you can find
- Spybot - Search and Destroy Spybot
- Adware 2007 by Lavasoft Ad-Aware 2007 Free
Run both. First one then the other.
For Free anti virus software AVG by Grisoft is the best I've found.
AVG.
As soon as my 'one year free trial' of CA expires I'm going with AVG.

It was originally recommended to me by a dell techy, and there are two versions- one is free.

Super AntiSpyware, Free Edition —
the best I have found. I used to use AdAware (free) and Spy Sweeper (pay), and would run both those, and then run this one, and it would find lots of stuff the other two never found! So I was sold on it (but didn’t have to pay anything for it — obviously the gubmint isn’t marketing it, LOL)
