My oldest daughter will turn 40 on Christmas Eve this year. I couldn't be with my wife in the maternity ward because the ward had been quaranteened due to an influenza outbreak. I was sent home and told to wait by the phone. I watched as Apollo 8 was circling the moon and just after the crew read from Genesis and signed off the doc called. He told me I was the father of a darling baby girl and I could visit in the morning but I would have to wear gown and mask.

I arrived the next morning and she was a doll and Mom was fine too. I had been reading "The GodFather" amd thought that Michael's first wife's name would be appropriate.

Apollonia sounded nice but my daughter was named Lisa!

Lisa is now a mom and whenever I suggested Apollonia or Apollo, (grand son and grand daughter so far) my Daughter says, "Dad enough already!" There's a third kiddie on the way and I can hope....

That was a terrible time to name a girl Lisa. There were four Lisas in my elementary school class and so many in high school that I stopped responding to my name.
