Please tell me Waltrout was like the maiden name of the mother or something...(not that it excuses it lol)

No, Waltrout was not a maiden name. As I recall, her parents were German, so maybe it’s a popular name in Germany.

Waltrout (or Waltraut) is a good German name, although not as elegant as my favorite, Mechtildis. There are other German girls’ names with the -traut suffix.
