Some words just keep rolling around in your head like a loose marble in the back of a moving station wagon. Lagniappe is one of my faves.

That's a great description......sort of like that never-ending "It's a Small World" tune. LOL.

Looks like FR is fixed, for now. I haven't gotten the dreaded "proxy error" message for awhile. :-)

Wow. That is a great poem! And the photo is a perfect fit. I admit, I am not very well-read when it comes to poetry. That is one of the Kipling poems that I had not read before. Amy's Place encourages me to explore poetry.

I enjoy the simplicity of haikus too and have spent a good part of the morning on haiku websites.

It is my understanding that she wrote that ‘letter’ after she knew her “Room” was ready. I loved her wonderful sense of humor and her down to earth grasp of Goodness.

Okay, friends, I need some help here. I am not about to take on Amy's very own master phrase-turner and poetry-maker all by myself.

MB = The haiku ball has
been tossed in our direction,
shall we toss it back?

I would train myself to think,
In very tight compartments,
Which held no kitchen sink.

With little room to turn around,
I'd hope you'd know what I mean,
In phrases of three tiny lines,

Haikus....went to a few sites.....would drive me crazy. Me thinks my brain is tired, therefore, I cannot gain knowledge this evening....maybe not tomorrow when it comes to haikus...WOW!

Beautiful butterfly haiku! It is worthy of a graphic. I am going to save it and come up with a graphic to go with it. Too bad you don't like haiku, NnB, you write them well. :-)

Actually, they are not difficult, jaycee. That's why I like them. It's the only type of poetry I can write, even though my haiku does not compare to NnB's. Just come up with a phrase that is one line of five syllables, one line of seven syllables, and then the last line of five syllables. If I can do it, anyone can. ;-)
