Q: Which has been fighting the A.C.L.U., to keep gays out of the scouts. Why do you see that as a worthy cause? To the Nyet Slimes:

Here is the Q/A I wished he would hav presented:
Q; And instead of a shotgun-shooting merit badge, how about a gun-control badge?
A: The shotgun-shooting merit badge *IS* a gun-control badge.

Q: How about a merit badge in vegetarianism? It isn't an IMPROVEMENT. It is just an endurance test to see if you can limit your food intake sources based on a MORAL choice. Meanwhile to do the same thing with romantic relationships is considered "intolerant".

Q; And instead of a shotgun-shooting merit badge, how about a gun-control badge? Gun SHOOTING is a skill.
Gun GRABBING is a violation of constititionally identified basic RIGHTS.

Q: What do you think of Barack Obama?
A: I think he is a very attractive, very intriguing and, to many, a very stimulating candidate. I think he is one step away from being a socialist.

I didn’t care for the diaper answer. I would have prefered “like teach young men good father roles”? Nothing wrong with guys changing diapers and helping mom but focus on guy stuff.

Q: I know they have a dog-care merit badge, but why not a child-care badge? Hey, they have Girl Scouts for that already.
To: fgoodwin
Is this idiot for real? You can just tell that she absolutely cannot stand that some organization exists outside of, and contrary to, her own moronic view of the way the world ought to be. Where is the "tolerance" the liberals remind us of ad nauseum? Right. It isn't there. I wasn't a Scout. My kids are Scouts, one an Eagle. I send them to Scouts because I like the Scout values, which happen to be my own values as well. They used to be the values of most Americans. Even if they are no longer shared by some Americans, they are still mine, and I kindly advise her and her kind to bug off.
To: CindyDawg
Seeing as the average scout is between 12 and 16 before he gets his Eagle, I feel it is inappropriate to teach them anything about parenthood. It is the job of the parents when they see fit.
I think scouting has changed for the worse when it comes to the new merit badges and such. Scouting is and will always be about building self-confidence, respect for authority, citizenship, and mostly camping. That is why as a scout leader I do not push nor encourage the “new” badges and we camp at least once if not more a month.
To: nmh
Why do they think that old is always bad and new is good? I was thinking the other day that I should get some old Father knows Best, Mayberry, My 3 sons types of movies for my grandkids to watch occasionally.

You may not realize it but you are already teaching a father role to these boys. This starts at birth. A child sees how a man treats his wife and family. Mothers do the same with daughters. Kids that have a negative role model can get the chance to see a better way from mentors. People always think of parenthood as sex. That is not what I’m talking about.
To: fgoodwin
Q: Its a shame the Scouts are alienating so many American kids when they could be a force for equality and civic unity. That's a question?
Look I'm all for unity. Everyone should agree with me and then we will have complete unity.
