For the novice, Final Cut Express (the scaled down version) is a pretty neat tool. It’s worlds beyond iMovie and has power and options that can do a LOT. There is a learning curve, but if you get a manual and use it as a reference, it doesn’t take long to master the basics.

I made my first movie with Final Cut Express years ago when iMovie was not capable of doing much and had a lot of glitches.

Final Cut Pro must be an amazing tool in the hands of someone who knows how to maximize its options and power.

As a video producer, I used Final Cut Express as a way to make enough money to afford Final Cut Pro. It’s worked out beautifully.
