Good for the club. Grunting is rude. Tennis should not be rude.

Tennis should not be rude.

Tennis got "gooned up" years ago, with the on-court antics of Jimmy Connors and John McEnroe. Golf is well along the path of a similar gooning up (e.g., 16th hole at the Phoenix Open).

There are no more "gentlemen's games" because there are no longer any gentlemen.

Also consider ... at an advanced level of play ... the sound of the ball off the strings ... particularly when receiving serve is very important. [Helps detect the flight of the ball - think of "English" on the cue ball in billards/pool.]

Grunting masks that sound.

On Fox and Friends this morning Alisyn Cammerota was grousing about a grunter in the FNC gym. Get over yourselves people! Sports and exercise are physical and noisy.

Is it any wonder that golf is declining in popularity while NASCAR has record attendance? There were half a million people at the Daytona 500 this year. Sports fans enjoy cheering for their favorites. Fewer and fewer people relish the idea of color-coordinated outfits, polite applause and dead silence during putts.
