Things just get worse and worse for Everex's Cloudbook, previously thought to be a competitor to the popular Asus Eee PC, as the first company to actually ship the mini laptop has ceased selling it. ZaReason says they've lost so much money in shipping out refunds (due to bank transaction fees) that it's no longer profitable for them to sell it. Why would so many people want refunds? Because the laptop's kind of a crapfest, according to last week's Laptop Mag reviewpartially because the touchpad is placed in a horrible, horrible spot. But if you really want one, Wal-Mart's got it listed on their website.

This little puppy is GREAT (apart from the strange screen size and small keyboard). 802.11g wireless reception is EXCELLENT. Looking forward to FReeping from it a lot in the backyard this spring/summer.
Plus, it's a lot more intuitive to use than this OLPC thing.
EXCELLENT!
Yep, I’ve been having a blast with my EeePC too. My college student son really took a liking to it (he usually doesn’t go for gadgets), so I bought him one too!
There's a lot more you can do with it. B-]
I plan on making this my next PC purchase. So thanks for posting about it. I could do without the speakers in exchange for a bigger screen. I can’t think of any reason to even have speakers.
Yes, I’ve seen this...pretty wild! I’m trying to think of a Amatuer Radio application for this, but I’m not that clever...
