So, with gasolene prices bobbing up and down. And the economy also bobbing! When and what will it take to get rel action n Aternative energy?Nikola tesla(1856-1943) had the answer more then a 100 years ago! That of broadcasting wirelessly eletric power! He even set up a braodcasting tower for this at Wardecylle,Long Island(Now Shoreham, L.I.) But when he mentioned FREE ELECTRIOC POWER to hs financial backer the great Robber Baron J.P. Morga. Whos meatered eletric power intreste would have been ruined. The money was removed and Tesla went into a life long debt!To honor Dr. Tesla in 2005 and 2006 I organized the GLOBAL ENERGY INDPENDENCE DAY held every July 10th the birthdate anniversary of Dr tesla. To rembewr Tesla and promote ALTERNATIVE ENERGY AND FUELS,VeHICLES. See the Tesla memorial Society www.teslasociety.com And Pure Energy Systems A Community Built Alternative energy site www.Peswiki.comNikola Tesla/GloBAL ENERGY INDPENDENCE DAY. No!!!!! What is neeeded is REAL ACTIO NOW!!!! Perhaps at least a Day to rember Nikola tesla And PROMTING ALTERNATIVE ENERGY is one way to do this?
WOO-HOO!!!
300!!
You GO girl!
Yepper...Wednesday is a dignified ol’ lady-cat!
And it’s only March 1!
Shannon is sitting on the catnip-scratcher now, washing her paws, and Wednesday is dozing behind the chair :-).
PS! I bought two boxes of GS cookies today! I went to two stores and found different troops at each, so...
There was a basket on one of the tables for donations for GS cookies to be sent to the Troops. I had reached my max in money, so I just put a box in the basket and called it good, since I had bought two boxes at Wally World. It just seemed fitting to donate one for a GOOD cause!
I would love to know how cats relax so quickly. PV was like Silly Putty in my son’s hands, and he could do anything with that cat. PV just blinked and accepted his fate without ever tensing a muscle.
I know! Nobody can relax like a cat ... even Wednesday!
Our girls had a collection jar for cookies for the troops, too. It’s really nice that so many people want to contribute. My brother said they loved getting Girl Scout cookies when he was in Saudi Arabia!
I can’t imagine being so far from home, fighting an “unpopular war”, and not being able to get things from home that make you feel like a real person.
I knitted a dozen “watch caps” in camo, and have them ready to send out. I knit headbands (ski-type) too, but I think the troops need more warmth. I knit them in medium and large, so they fit most everyone, including the females.
If you want, I can knit up a bunch for your GS Troop...they would be welcome, I’m sure.
AND! I also knit and crochet “watch caps” for low-birth-weight babies, and take them to the local hospital...about a mile from here. Some are even in camo!!
Hmmm...a red x...my favorite photo!
It showed up once!
LOL!
I hate when that happens!
My Girl Scouts made baby blankets at meeting this spring. At our next meeting, they’ll sign some cards I made, and then one of the moms will take them to the Crisis Pregnancy Center.
Anoreth is going to send a bunch of “Field and Stream,” “Outdoor Life,” and car magazines to the troops. Russ also said they were terribly bored in Saudi and needed magazines!
If it’s OK with you, the next time I order back issues of puzzle mags, I’ll send some to you, so you can forward them to the troops. I usually buy eight at a time, and they are all fun.
Let me know what you want for the GS.
Right-click on red x.
Left click on properties.
Click and drag to highlight properties, then Ctrl C (Control C).
Move to another web window and paste address in Address bar.
Picture should be visible. Then, when you go back to regular web-window, hit refresh, (may also need to click on show picture).
Picture should appear to replace the red x.
You could send puzzle magazines to the troops. Just go to “anysoldier.com” and pick a contact who represents a large unit. Chaplain’s offices are good. It wouldn’t cost you any more than mailing them to me, since mail to the combat zone is a standard first-class rate!
The Girl Scouts usually want to make things themselves to give away :-).
Alternatively, you could get an address from AnySoldier, and then have the puzzle books shipped directly from the distributor to the APO address. If you called your source, they might even send old issues that are cluttering up the warehouse to the troops for nothing!
Cool! I can do that! Thanks!
I’ll check with them, too. You never know what kind of avalanche you can start with a snowflake.
Er...are my blonde roots showing?
I should do the same! The main thing that stops me from sending more packages to the deployed soldiers is the nuisance of going to the Post Office!
I don’t always feel well enough to do what I want, so I’ve had to learn how to get other people (organizations) to do what I want!
When it comes to the Troops, I’m a real softie.
