I suggest you read Jasper Ridley’s “The Freemasons: A History of the World’s Most Powerful Secret Society”, New York, 2001.
Ridley is not a Freemason, but he’s a researcher and writer and has researched the Calvi/P2 controversy and came up with the same conclusion that Discovery Channel recently did in their production on the History of Freemasons — that the P2 controversy and the connection to Freemasonry is certainly fiction. An attempt by anti-masons to cause controversey for masons.
In answer to your second question, yes the P2 lodge was under the jurisdiction of the Grand Orient Lodge of Italy, just as all regular Italian lodges would be... they have since been expelled however.
