As they get older, they DO get calmer! The contrast between my Choc and my little pistol of a Black is remarkable . . . . a gentle little whine, “I see the duck, mom, and I’m ready” versus “oh! a duck! can I get the duck? oh! PLEASE! let me get the duck! Pleasepleasepleaseplease!”

I remember my Ace, who looked like a minature GSD. Finally, when he was 16; he started slowing down. He loved to dig and escape. I used to put a big lead on him in the backyard; so if he got loose; he would wrap himself around a tree which he did everytime and my sweet neighbot would call. I changed that darned dog through 3 states. I also loved him very much. He was great with everyone including kids.
